Did you know Flourish has a remarkable history? Back in 2009, we began as a ministry called My Father’s House at Resurrection, a United Methodist Church. Our founder, Kevin Jones, was a HUD employee who saw the dire need for furnishings across the city. With a passionate group of volunteers from the church, we moved into our first home: this charming, early-twentieth century warehouse space on Manchester Trafficway. While we’ve come a long way since those early days, our core mission remains unchanged. Today, we’re 501(c)(3) nonprofit, and Flourish is still powered by the dedication of volunteers and donors who share our passion for helping families furnish their homes.
Although we’ve moved to a new space, we’re proud to maintain many of the same partnerships that have fueled our work since the beginning. The areas and teams for refurbishing and showcasing furniture have been held steady by our fantastic crew of volunteers. While our name has changed, we continue to be a center for the community to give and receive furniture. Since our inception, we’ve had the privilege of furnishing thousands of homes, all thanks to the support of our incredible community.
We’d like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to everyone who has given their time, furniture, and funding over the years, both to My Father’s House and now to Flourish. Here’s to all the homes we have left to furnish in the future! 💙
