How to Furnish Homes This Holiday Season with Flourish
Can you believe we are entering the last quarter of 2024? What an exciting year it has been at Flourish!
By the end of September, we served 938 families that consisted of 2,157 individuals. Flourish is on target to serve nearly 1,300 families this year with strategic increases in our capacity.
We are calling on yout to make a commitment of funding, items, or volunteer service to support hundreds more families this year.
There are so many exciting things to get involved with this holiday season. Wherever you’re able to contribute, your gift provides an ENTIRE home of furniture and home essentials each year to hundreds of families that have experienced housing insecurity.
Flourish can only furnish homes with your help! Thanks for being a part of our family and for helping us care for our home, so we can help families create theirs.
Giving Tuesday
Your company can sponsor a critical piece of our mission, making a direct difference for a family in Kansas City. Your financial commitment can cover the cost of picking up a furniture donation, repairing an item, helping a family shop, or furnishing an entire home. No matter what level you choose, your business plays a crucial role by providing comfort, safety, and dignity to families starting over. Giving Machines
Flourish is deeply honored to be included in the Light the World Kansas City Giving Machine this holiday season! What is a Giving Machine? Watch this video to see how it works. Visit the Giving Machine at Union Station starting in November to purchase essential household items for families in Kansas City. You can also donate online to support Flourish’s Giving Machines Campaign!
United Way Impact 100
Flourish is part of this year’s United Way Impact 100, a group of local nonprofits working to address our community’s most critical health and human service needs. This designation provides unrestricted funding to support our work. This annual list is comprised of one hundred of the most vital health and human service organizations that United Way will invest and partner with to bring real-time solutions to our community.
Monthly Donation
Can you commit to a small monthly gift of $50, $25, or $5? At each level, your support builds the backbone of our organization. Monthly donors are the capacity-building powerhouses that fuel our services. Your regular support will have an immediate impact on at least one family every time you donate, whether through a new set of kitchen utensils, providing a new bed, or covering the cost of a furniture pickup.
Host a Donation Drive
Host a donation drive for Flourish! to collect essential items for families homes! Organize a donation drive to gather essential items for families in need. Whether you set up a collection bin or host a drop-off day, your contribution will go directly into a family’s home. The items you collect will be critical in providing comfort, stability, and happiness for a family regain their footing. Transform a home by hosting a donation drive this holiday season!
Drink Flourish Coffee
Flourish partners with Maps Coffee & Chocolate to offer a custom Flourish blend of coffee. Maps is a local roasterie and craft chocolate shop. Their small team of rockstar roasters hand-roasts artisinal coffee and chocolate. A portion of the proceeds from the sale of every bag is donated back to Flourish. Maps sources beans from around the world and roasts in small batches so that you only get fresh, high-quality coffee. Life is too short to drink average coffee! Order delicious whole bean coffee online– for a loved one or yourself – and provide furnishings to a family in Kansas City.
Volunteer Together
Flourish offers both individual and group opportunities in the morning, evening, during the week, and on the weekend! We welcome individuals ages 12+ and groups of up to 10 to join us for a fun day of service. Volunteers aged 12-14 must be accompanied by an adult. Whether with a group or coming on your own, all individuals must pre-register at our website, Flourish.FurnitureBank.net. Groups seeking a day of service can get scheduled by emailing our Director of Volunteer Programs, Allison Mannering, at Allison@FlourishFurnitureBank.org.
